Elmore Leonard's Two Rules of Making Money

1. Write and get paid for a newspaper article extolling the virtues of simple and concise prose.

2. Expand said article into one hundred page book in which the virtues of simple and concise prose are extolled in a more complex and less concise manner.

Hehe. I'm not a writer (nor do I have aspirations to be one) but I found his rules pretty lame. No prologues? Only use "said"? What is this, grade 5 creative writing class?
