My (brief) review of Michael Meehan's novel Deception is in the October Australian Book Review. Readers who recall this post might be amused by the contributor bio they've given me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to my castle in the Loire.
In fact, the Baron may be right. Some time ago, an Italian politician announced the sale of ancient Tuscan properties/ruins for the princely sum of one Euro!
Sadly not, Baron. The pay I did receive would be enough for an inexpensive book on the Loire, or perhaps a Lego castle. I'll probably use it to pay my phone bill.
Well done. Also, having just discovered your blog today (and, through you, 'Shadowplay'), I have now spent very little time working and a lot of time laughing. Thanks for this!

Did you win their reviewing competition? You'll be able to afford a castle in the Loire if you did.

Sod that for a lark.
congrats anyway, Tim, on a payment for your writing - however little. Now that's a lark.
Is it online anywhere?
